One of the outstanding features of The Super Sixth: The History of the Sixth Armored Division is a series of maps researched and drawn by Richard M. Crossett, who also provided heraldry designs for units of the division.

These maps highlight the major engagements of the division, and clarify actions that are sometimes hard to visualize from the dry descriptions found in the 1945 Combat Record of the Sixth Armored Division.

Of particular interest, perhaps, are certain maps such as Map 4, which illustrates the Super Sixth's highly unusual 180 turn to attack the German 266th Division at their rear, and Maps 14 through 17 which show the Super Sixth's major but often-overlooked battles in the Ardennes campaign.
